WBGO, based in Newark, NJ, now has some new exposure, courtesy of a new broadcast transmitter on top of the Conde Nast building in Times Square. Most notable of the WBGO shows are Gary Walker, 6am-10am EST and their Blues Hour weekdays from 3pm-4pm EST. I've heard they may be the best Jazz station in the country but that is some serious shooting from the hip.
I did feel a bit odd writing about a radio transmitter with that "Listen Online" button available to me and anyone else out of FM range. But if you never heard of WBGO or haven't listened in a while, give them a try.
