Got Mandolin Lessons?

You bet. Lessons also available for guitar, piano, drums, upright bass, banjo and others. It's part of ArtistWorks online instrumental music instruction. Instructors who are established on their respective instruments present video lessons (beginner, intermediate or advanced) as part of a package. Lessons are taught by a specific instructor, who you select when enrolling and whose videos are available 24/7, as you learn at your own pace. The price is $90 every 3 months, $150 every 6 months or $240 every 12 months. Included in the price is a service where you can send a video of yourself playing a particular lesson and the instructor will reply via video with a critique of your playing.

An article from yesterday's LA Times and the ArtistWorks website (links below) have more information. From what I've read and seen (promotional trailer and behind the scenes videos below), it looks like it might work well. Of course, I'm very curious how well this type of learning works in the real world.

One last note, the LA Times article mentions three other music instruction websites: TrueFire, JamPlay and WorkshopLive.  I'm guessing there must be many more options with varying levels of price and interactivity.
